Day 4 - Winnipeg, MB

We started the day with a tour of the mint. It's Sunday, so we didn't see anything working. But we saw lots of machines and learned about coins. Did you know our loonie was almost a scene with a canoe, but one if the original masters went missing so they had to change the design.
We went wandering around The Forks area.
There is an Ai Weiwei sculpture there. Bridget and I saw a sculpture by him many years ago in Kassel, Germany and we even saw the artist himself. Kassel Blog Post

We had lunch at the market there. It was great as everyone got to get food from a different place.
We went to the children's museum. We got in free with our Calgary science center passes. That was a bonus. Sam had a blast.
We went back to the room for a little "rest".
We don't usually go to Costco for gas. But we are trying to be strategic to save a little on gas since it is such a big part of the cost. I don't think it is worth it.
We checked out Portage and Main. It is just a big intersection for cars.
We did stop for a nice dinner on a patio, but blogger isn't letting me add any more pictures to this post. Tomorrow we start three long days of driving across Ontario. Tomorrow we are driving to Thunder Bay.

  4. I'm glad those coin masters went missing. I'd much rather have a Loonie than a Canoe-ie! Everything happens for a reason, my mother says.
