We started day 2 at the museum called “the Rooms”
View from the stairwell at The Rooms
This lovely volunteer told the kids about all sorts of stuff including teaching them how to process cod
A hoop to help one carry two buckets of water
Touching an iceberg! Toby was very excited.
A life jacket from the titanic
In the afternoon we drove to Bay Bulls to do a whale watching & Puffin tour.
And who should we see there but our friends Len and Pat from Calgary. Wild!
We payed for the privilege of getting “screeched in”. It may not have been that authentic (we kissed a stuffed puffin instead of a cod), said a Newfoundland phrase, and “walked like a Newfoundlander” (put our foot in a bucket of seawater) and drank’s some screech (rum)
We went to the Yellowbelly Brewery in St John’s for dinner and then walked around a little bit.
The boys parted with some of their allowance at this candy store.
It was a full day but lots of fun!
