Day 19 - St John’s Day 1 (by Bridget)

Good morning! We survived out night on the ferry.  We had a very smooth ride, thank goodness!

It was too windy so we had to take a second pass at the Argentia harbour

 

This was our cabin . It was pretty comfortable for one night 

The ferry arrived in Argentia and it was just over an hour drive to St. John’s. We went straight to Signal Hill and saw some incredible views of the ocean, Cape Spear and St John’s

Next, we went to the Geo Center, a science centre located up on the hill. We got in for free using our Telus Spark science centre passes. 

In addition to some interesting information about the geographic and human history of Newfoundland they also had … Lego! Sam enjoyed making a “Diet Pepsi” creation. 

Then we checked into our Airbnb and I stocked up on more groceries. Julian met a friendly neighbourhood 

cat and we relaxed and watched episodes of Amazing Race Canada that featured cities we’d been in or were going to go to.  It’s nice to rest our heads on beds that are on solid ground!
