Bridget here again. We started a bit earlier on day two with pre-purchased tickets to the Museum of History/Children’s museum. Timed tickets were required and we snagged some the night before. Pre-planning and buying tickets seems necessary at a lot of places so we are getting lucky to book things the day before. Also this was the day Rogers had their big outage so we were lucky to have booked the night before.
We braved driving the big truck on day two. We passed by the National Gallery and Sam recognized the spider sculpture from learning about it in his grade 3 art class.
The museum was beautiful. We started with the Grand hall to see the exhibit on the First Peoples of Canada’s Pacific Coast
Then we had lunch outside the museum enjoying the magnificent view
After lunch it was our scheduled time for the Children’s museum. I was impressed! It was a really well done museum with very detailed, thoughtful spaces for kids to do imaginative play, from a Theatre to different vehicles, shopping, cooking, and learning about other cultures. A lot of the interactive elements seemed to have been removed because of Covid but there was still so much to do. Julian thought he was a bit too old for it but Sam loved it.
Sam really enjoyed going up and down the escalators!
We finished our visit at the History part of the museum. Time and attention spans we’re running out but we did make it through the whole thing. There was too much to look at for us to see everything anyway
Finally the part of the day that Julian has been looking forward to for weeks - seeing the new Marvel movie Thor: Love and Thunder
We took Laura’s advice and had some Lebanese pies for dinner from a restaurant near her place. No pictures unfortunately but they were delicious!
The museum didn't look very busy. Were you there super early?
ReplyDeleteThe museum wasn’t busy when we got there at 11:00 but it was pretty busy at 1:00. It just doesn’t look as busy in the pictures.
DeleteLooks like a great place 😁😊
